Mads Meier Jæger

Welcome to my website. I am Professor of Sociology at the University of Copenhagen.

My research revolves around social stratification, social mobility, and applied econometrics. My research has appeared in peer-reviewed journals such as American Sociological Review, American Journal of Sociology, and Social Forces.

I'm interested in understanding why children come to resemble their parents with regard to how education and income they obtain, why physically attractive people earn more than less attractive ones, and how historical factors shape socioeconomic attainment across multiple generations.

I am a member of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters and was awarded the EliteForsk award in 2020. I am also a member of the Independent Research Fund Denmark

Most importantly, I am a proud father of two. In my spare time, I dabble in analog photography and enjoy a good run. Please feel free to contact me if you're interested in my work. My Twitter handle is @MadsJaeger
